Relations between Tehran and Moscow are on the fast track
In the last few days, significant news about the expansion of cooperation between Iran and Russia has been published in the media. In the first news, new details of the oil and gas agreement between Iran and Russia were published

Mehdi Safari, the Deputy Minister of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, said in the Soraya program on Channel One, referring to the cooperation capacities of Iran and Russia, that about 6.5 billion dollars from the memorandum of understanding with Russia’s Gazprom Company has been converted into a contract. God willing, the rest of the memorandums, which are worth 40 billion dollars, will be converted into contracts in the next month, and the negotiations are ongoing.

Safari added: “The Russian gas swap agreement is being finalized and the only problem with this agreement that was postponed was the intermediate country from where the Russian gas was supposed to be swapped to Iran.” Regarding the construction of the high-pressure pipeline, note that Iran is not handing over the pipeline to any country, but the Russians are going to invest in this project. Russian companies are supposed to build a contract for gas transmission pipelines inside Pakistan so that gas can be exported from Iran to this country.

He continued: “Soon, a joint venture between Iran and Russia will be established to build a gas pipeline to the countries along the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, and the share of the two countries is 50%, and the Russians will develop special technology for the construction of the marine pipeline in this project”.

Safari said: In addition to economic benefits and reducing the cost of gas transit from the south of Iran to the north to supply fuel to the northern provinces, the Russian gas swap will increase the political solidarity between the countries of Iran, Russia and intermediate countries including Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, which is a very smart approach and leads to It is for political and security stability and peace of nations. Iran’s scenario for gas trade with Russia is to buy gas from this country and then export our own gas to neighboring countries, of course, we must also consider a variable condition that may lead us to swap gas or consume Russian gas inside power plants. But all our efforts are to re-export the gas purchased from Russia to the countries of the region.

He emphasized: One point should be noted that if we do not buy or swap Russian gas, the Russians will form this cooperation with other countries. Recently, the issue of Russian gas trade with Turkey has been raised, as a result, we must take advantage of the opportunities quickly. The Deputy Minister of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “The focus of the Russian oil swap negotiations is on the annual swap of 10 million tons of oil, and the agreements are on the verge of being finalized.”

Another news that attracts attention these days is agreements in the field of agriculture. Mohsen Shiravand, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Iran, said that Iran and Russia signed new agreements that will increase the export of Iranian agricultural products to Russia.

Nasrallah Ebrahimi, head of the secretariat of the Supreme Council of Commercial, Industrial and Special Economic Free Zones, said in this context: There are two main documents for the creation of joint and industrial free zones; One is Iran’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union to create joint free zones between the member states of the Eurasian Union, including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus, Russia and Iran, on the basis of which the two countries reached an agreement, both countries among the free zones, the joint free zone or Create a joint investment zone between the free zones of the two countries so that they can develop the level of economic, commercial and industrial interactions and cooperation in energy, industry, tourism, transit and logistics hubs, transportation and monetary, banking, financial institutions, international stock exchange and all foreign exchange. .
